A legal disclaimer
Last Updated: December 20, 2025
Simplview (the "App") is a product owned and operated by VK Education and Consulting (the "Company," "we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and protection of your personal and business data when you use the Simplview Analyst Studio app and its related services.
By accessing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.1. Data We Collect
We collect data primarily to provide, maintain, and improve the Simplview service. The data collected falls into two main categories:A. Information You Provide Directly
-
Account Information: When you sign in using Google Login (as per your MVP design), we collect your name, email address, and profile picture provided by your Google account.
-
Contact Information: This includes your email address for support or service updates.
-
Payment and Billing Information: If you subscribe to a paid service, we collect necessary payment details (handled by a third-party processor) and billing address.
B. Data Generated During Use (Service Data)
-
Workspace/Connected Data: The primary data you process using Simplview. This is the content from Google Sheets, CSV files, or Excel files that you explicitly connect or upload to the App. We do not store or process this Connected Data beyond what is necessary to generate the requested visualizations, summaries, and dashboards.
-
Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including:
-
The features you use (e.g., pinning cards, sharing dashboards).
-
Queries made via the Input Bar (including Hinglish and Voice-to-SQL input).
-
IP address, device type, operating system, and browser type.
-
-
Log Data: Server logs that record information about your session, such as access times, crashes, and system activity.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
-
To Provide and Maintain the Service: To authenticate your login, enable you to connect and analyze your data, generate visualizations (Viz Cards), and publish Executive Boards.
-
To Improve the App: To monitor usage and performance, troubleshoot errors ("Smart Error" Handling), and refine the functionality (e.g., improving the Hinglish NLP model).
-
For Communication: To send you service announcements, security alerts, and administrative messages. We will use your email to share dashboards if you use the sharing feature.
-
To Ensure Security: To verify accounts, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
-
For Regional Differentiation: To ensure the proper functioning of regional features, such as language support for Voice Note Reports (Hindi/English) and compliance with regional laws.
3. How We Protect Your Data
We implement a variety of security measures designed to maintain the safety of your personal and service data, in line with industry best practices:
-
Encryption in Transit (SSL/TLS): All data transferred between your device and our servers is secured using SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS).
-
Encryption at Rest: All user data (including account information and any short-term processed data) is encrypted when stored on our database servers.
-
Secure Authentication: We rely on secure Google Login (OAuth 2.0) for authentication and implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for administrative accounts.
-
Limited Data Retention: We retain your Connected Data only for the duration required to process your request and generate the output. We do not store your raw connected files unless you explicitly use a feature that requires long-term storage (e.g., saving a permanent Executive Board asset).
-
Security Audits: We regularly perform vulnerability scans and have a plan for security updates to address potential risks (e.g., following the "Self-Healing" feature concept).
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We will not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your data in the following circumstances:
-
With Your Consent: For example, when you use the "Share on WhatsApp/Messaging app" or "Share with Team" feature to distribute your insights.
-
Service Providers: We may share data with third-party vendors who perform services for us (e.g., hosting, analytics, payment processing). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we define.
-
Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government regulation, particularly regarding data storage and jurisdiction in India and North America.
-
Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
5. Terms of Service (ToS) / End-User License Agreement (EULA)
The use of the Simplview App is governed by a separate Terms of Service (ToS) or End-User License Agreement (EULA). This is a must-read, formal document that outlines:
-
The binding rules and acceptable uses of the Simplview application.
-
Specific payment terms, subscription details, and cancellation policies, if you subscribe to a paid service.
-
Limitations of our liability concerning your use of the App and any data processed through it.
-
The mechanism for dispute resolution and governing law for any disagreements.
By using the Simplview App, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set forth in our ToS/EULA.
6. Data Jurisdiction & Handling Declaration
Data Storage and Jurisdiction:
All personal and service data collected is stored and processed on secure servers located primarily in North America and India. This regional distribution is maintained to ensure performance, resilience, and to comply with specific regional data storage and jurisdiction requirements, particularly those applicable in India.
Data Connectivity and Third-Party Files:
Simplview is designed to work with your connected data, such as Google Sheets, CSV files, or Excel files.
-
Policy on Connected Data: As stated in Section 1.B, we do not store your raw Connected Data (the content of your Sheets/CSV/Excel files) beyond the temporary period necessary to generate the requested visualizations and summaries.
-
Third-Party Connections: When you explicitly connect third-party data sources, we only access the data required to perform your analysis. Simplview handles these connections using secure, industry-standard protocols (e.g., OAuth 2.0 for Google Sheets/Drive) and relies on the security policies of the third-party platforms for the storage of your source files. We specify policies for the secure handling of data during its brief journey from the source, through our processing engine, and back to you.
